2022 Texas Attorney General Election

The Texas primary elections were held on March 1. Candidates who did not receive over 50% of the vote faced a runoff against the second-place candidate on May 24. The general election will be held on November 8. 

Incumbent state Attorney General Ken Paxton won 42.7% in the Republican primary and 67.9% in the May 24 runoff. 

Former ACLU attorney Rochelle Garza won 42.9% in the Democratic primary and 62.6% in the May 24 runoff. (Data from The Texas Tribune, Lean Left bias)
