Trump and Epstein’s Past Ties Resurface Amid Newly Uncovered Footage

Recently uncovered photos and footage show Jeffrey Epstein attending President Donald Trump’s 1993 wedding and socializing with him at a 1999 fashion show, prompting fresh attention to their past relationship.

The Footage: CNN (Lean Left bias) reported the footage on Tuesday saying its KFile uncovered the raw footage during a review of archival video of Trump at events in the 1990s and 2000s. The outlet highlighted various instances where Trump and Epstein were seen together, or when Trump spoke about his relationship with Epsterin during those years. It also noted that Epstein’s presence at Trump’s wedding “was not widely known until now", and mentioned the two had a falling-out in the mid-2000s after a dispute over a high-profile real estate deal. Fox News (Right) reported that the images predate Epstein’s known legal troubles, and highlighted Trump’s past efforts to distance himself from Epstein. It noted Trump’s recent attempts to downplay public interest in the “Epstein files” and included a statement from a White House spokesperson dismissing the coverage as misleading, noting the images were taken at public events. 

Epstein Files: Wall Street Journal (Center) reported the Justice Department informed Trump in May that his name appears multiple times in the unreleased Epstein files, along with other public figures. Officials emphasized that the mentions were based on unverified hearsay and did not indicate wrongdoing. The Justice Department decided not to release further documents, citing concerns over victim privacy and the presence of child pornography. Trump agreed with the department’s decision, and a public statement confirming the end of the review was posted weeks later.

For Context: On Wednesday, US District Judge Robin Rosenberg denied the Justice Department’s request to release grand jury transcripts from a 2005–2007 investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, which led to his 2008 plea deal. Epstein has been linked to a series of sex trafficking crimes, and ties to many notable people, including Trump, former President Bill Clinton, billionaire Richard Branson, and Prince Andrew.
