Journalist Mario Guevara was deported to El Salvador on Friday after more than 100 days in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody following his June arrest while livestreaming a "No Kings" event near Atlanta.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Newsweek in an email Saturday, "This illegal alien was granted voluntary departure in 2012. He refused to depart and was given a final order of removal from an immigration judge in 2012. On October 3, ICE removed him to El Salvador. If you come to our country and break our laws, we will arrest you and you will NEVER return."...
