What to know about Twitter's incoming new CEO, Linda Yaccarino

A former NBC head of advertising will the new CEO of Twitter as Elon Musk steps away from the top management role at the company.

Musk announced that former NBCUniversal CEO Linda Yaccarino would join the company as its CEO in the coming weeks.

Yaccarino worked at NBC for more than a decade and led its efforts to expand advertising, including the launch of the streaming service Peacock.

"I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!" Musk tweeted on Friday. "[Yaccarino] will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology. Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app."
