Wikipedia editors deleted a page for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kathy Barnette after arguing she is not a notable person. Barnetteโ€™s page was later restored, but could be deleted at any time, editors said. Discussion was triggered in April 2021, when an editor said that the references on the page โ€œdo not establish notability beyond routine campaign coverage.โ€ Another editor agreed, saying Barnette had โ€œnot received an unusual amount of national-level coverage,โ€ pointing to a page for former Republican Senate candidate Christine Oโ€™Donnell. โ€œObviously, if Barnette wins the election the article can be recreated,โ€ the editor said.
