Axios Bias Rating Moved to Lean Left Following AllSides Survey and Review
Axios’ AllSides Media Bias Rating™ has shifted from Center to Lean Left following the AllSides Feb. 2023 Blind Bias Survey and subsequent Editorial Review.
After receiving feedback from our community that our Center rating for Axios may be incorrect, AllSides included Axios in our latest Blind Bias Survey. Americans across the political spectrum on average rated Axios as Lean Left. (On average, respondents on the left and in the center rated Axios as Lean Left; respondents on the right rated Axios as Left. The overall average was Lean Left.) AllSides then conducted a full Editorial Review using a panel of 6 reviewers on the left, center, and right, which confirmed a rating of Lean Left.
Axios was rated -2.35 (Lean Left) on average in the Blind Bias Survey, and was rated -1.13 in the Editorial Review. The average of these ratings resulted in a final bias rating of -1.75 for Axios (Lean Left).
The Editorial Review found story choice bias and Lean Left slant on issues such as immigration, abortion, critical race theory, and other hot-button cultural and social issues. The panel agreed that Axios’ coverage provided thorough context and information. Axios did not include many story choices of interest to the right and did not equally balance voices on the right in their articles.

Axios’ media bias rating is featured on the AllSides Media Bias Chart™, which will be updated to reflect this change.
