About The Steamboat Institute

The Steamboat Institute says it "promotes America's first principles and inspires active involvement in the defense of liberty."

In its mission statement, it lists five "founding principles":

  2. Limited taxes and fiscal responsibility
  3. Free market capitalism
  4. Strong national defense
  5. Individual rights and responsibilities

 

The Steamboat Institute was founded in 2008 by Rick Akin and Jennifer Schubert-Akin. Prominent speakers hosted by The Steamboat Institute have included Trump administration officials like former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
