Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist and author, frequently comments on politics, religion, and culture. Some of his positions — including support for secularism, scientific rationalism, and opposition of President Donald Trump — are often associated with the political left, he has also defended free expression and been a vocal critic of progressive gender ideology. For example, he believes sex is binary and has commended court rulings that align with this view, calling one decision “a triumph of science and commonsense.”

The Center rating reflects Dawkins’ tendency to approach issues through the lens of science and secularism. He offers both praise and criticism across the spectrum depending on the topic.
