MRC Rated Right in Dec. 2022 Independent Review

MRC's bias was confirmed as Right in a Dec. 2022 Independent Review by an AllSides reviewer.

The reviewer noted MRC's story choice and framing aligned with the conservative right, with an article expressing concern about alleged Big Tech censorship stating that "Google is burying the campaign websites of its fiercest critics on Capitol Hill." Another article about billionaire George Soros' ties to the media noted, "The journalism and activist media groups Soros supports mold public opinion on practically every continent and in many languages. They also insulate him from inquiry because reporters see him as an ally, not a target for investigation." Other stories focused on Hunter Biden scandals and accused the media of censoring the stories, stating that "the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks [are] doing all they can to avoid telling their audiences about the stunning revelations that have sprung from Hunter’s hard drive." (Read more about Hunter Biden here.) An MRC explainer video detailed how "two of the biggest names in the fact checking industry — Politifact and Snopes — abuse their role to tilt the scales in Democrats’ favor."
