Mario Nawfal Rated Lean Right in April 2025 Small Group Editorial Review

A group of three AllSides reviewers on the left, center, and right rated Mario Nawfal Lean Right in an April 2025 Small Group Editorial Review. Nawfal primarily covers breaking news, but can display bias through slant or story choice. 

Nawfal said, "Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s wife filed 2 domestic violence petitions before his deportation, detailing years of abuse, threats, and even locking their kids in a basement. She said he told her mom he could kill her with zero consequences—and claimed she has the recording. Lawyers and Democrats painted him as a “loving dad from Maryland." He's also said, "GO EASY ON CRIMINALS IS HOW CIVILIZATIONS ROT."

Though he does seem to be opposed to some deportations, saying, "Mohsen Mahdawi, a Columbia student and U.S. permanent resident originally from a West Bank refugee camp, is out on bail after being detained by DHS agents. Why was he locked up? Federal agents claimed he was a foreign policy threat. They dragged out a dusty old gun shop story where the owner says Mahdawi once bragged about building weapons to kill Jews. The judge in Vermont wasn’t buying it and sided with his lawyers, who say the arrest was payback for his pro-Palestinian activism on campus."

On transgender athletes in sports, he said, "PROTECTING WOMEN’S SPORTS: FAIRNESS WINS Trump signed an executive order: women’s sports are for women, period. The NCAA is rethinking its rules, and states are lining up to follow suit. No more loopholes, just level playing fields. Cue the applause from female athletes everywhere."
