An independent review of Capital-Star conducted in March 2023 by AllSides Managing Editor Henry A. Brechter (Center bias) noted a strong focus on progressive issues, including transgender issues, lowering the prison population, and women's rights in the Middle East. The Reflector seems to frame conservatives and Republicans negatively across coverage of multiple issues.
