John K. Herr is a speechwriter and standup comedian. A graduate of Penn State University, Herr served in the White House under both President George H.W. Bush and President George W. Bush. He has written for three Governors and four Cabinet secretaries on topics ranging from homeland security to housing policy to education. He wrote one of the first major speeches following the 9-11 terrorist attacks for then-Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge. He also wrote jokes for President George W. Bush.
