Citizen Data Rated Lean Left in June 2024 Small Group Editorial Review

An AllSides June 2024 Small Group Editorial Review returned a Lean Left rating for Citizen Data.

One AllSides reviewer on the right noted that in the "Elevate Truth" section it states "due to 'election threats' [Citizen Data has] poured into developing tools to counter election disinformation and 'key culprits of election denialism.' This is to say that all of those who think there may be issues with the current voting system, are 'culprits' and 'election threats' which includes many people on the right."

A reviewer on the left mentioned that Citizen Data supported ranked choice voting and a Nevada ballot measure for open primaries, which many on the right perceive to be unfair. Citizen data also argues the "belief that former President Trump won the 2020 election is fueled by a large-scale disinformation campaign," a characterization many on the right might disagree with.

There were also multiple articles about climate change featured on in the "insights" section. Climate change is a topic that is more often focused on by those on the left. While there is research on many bipartisan solutions and the vioces of independents, reviewers across the spectrum agreed that the emphasis on disinformation and "election denialism" aligns with a Lean Left bias.
