About Breaking Points's Bias Rating

Breaking Points is a podcast source with an AllSides Media Bias Rating™ of Center.

Breaking Points is a daily news podcast and show on YouTube hosted by Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti.

What a "Center" Rating Means

Sources with an AllSides Media Bias Rating of Center either do not show much predictable media bias, display a balance of articles with left and right biases, or equally balance left and right perspectives.

Center doesn't mean better! A Center media bias rating does not necessarily mean a source is totally unbiased, neutral, perfectly reasonable, or credible, just as Left and Right don't necessarily mean extreme, wrong, unreasonable, or not credible. AllSides encourages people to read outlets across the political spectrum.

Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar rated Center in April 2026 Small Group Editorial Review

Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar was rated Center (-0.86) in an April 2026 Small Group Editorial Review by a panel of expert right, center and left reviewers.

The show leans heavily into analysis rather than straight news reporting, often relying on commentary by the hosts or interviews with guests. Reviewers across the panel noted significant common ground between the hosts despite their differing political allegiances, and characterized the show's perspective as populist rather than partisan – critical of establishment institutions and both Democrat and Republican politicians.

This finding, overall, was one of the main drivers of the Center rating. The show doesn’t fit into traditional left and right categories, according to the panelists.

Coverage of the Trump administration's handling of the Israel-Iran conflict was the area where reviewers most consistently identified left-leaning tendencies. The Center reviewer noted the show was "quite critical of the Trump admin at times" and that "the presentation of Iran war coverage is pretty skewed against the Trump admin." The Lean Right reviewer similarly said the show "heavily leans left in its analysis of the Trump admin's actions with Israel/Iran." The Lean Left reviewer agreed, rating the show further left than the other panelists, and noted that while the show included some balanced perspectives on the Trump administration, "these perspectives often felt dismissed."

Notably, the Lean Right panelist noted the show's coverage of Christian persecution in Lebanon and an alleged IDF desecration of a Jesus statue as examples of the show's willingness to cover stories that cut against typical ideological expectations, calling it "a blind spot for most media." The same reviewer also observed that criticism of Israel has become "both a left and right issue, for different reasons," making the show difficult to place cleanly on the traditional political spectrum.

Reviewers generally found the content more balanced than the packaging, which helps explain the Center rating despite its biased titles, which reviewers agreed were sensationalistic.

Shows reviewed included:

  • FL Cubans BEG FOR WAR As Trump Makes New Threat
    • Center reviewer wrote the “Content was balanced up front.”
    • Center reviewer noted the hosts interviewed “an independent latino journalist who’s interviewed a lot of Cubans about the situation.”
    • “Overall, the guest was quite biased against US action, not much justification to the contrary was offered by he or the hosts,” the panelist said.
  • THREATS FLY After US SEIZES Iranian Ship
    • The Lean Left panelist identified word choice bias in the episode: “‘Iran War’ – from my view, pretty much used across the spectrum but may be slightly more aligned with non-MAGA perspectives,” the panelist said.
    • “Heavily quoted Trump’s posts on Truth Social,” the reviewer said.
  • 10TH MISSING SCIENTIST As UFO Mystery Deepens
    • The Lean Right panelist said “not much overt media bias going on within the left/right frame… but definitely an anti-gov bias.”
    • “Obviously missing the perspective of NASA/White House, but again this is selective analysis for the purpose of the show… bias by omission,” the panelist said.
