Ballotpedia is a reference source with an AllSides Media Bias Ratingβ’ of Center.
What a "Center" Rating Means
Sources with an AllSides Media Bias Rating of Center either do not show much predictable media bias, display a balance of articles with left and right biases, or equally balance left and right perspectives.
Center doesn't mean better! A Center media bias rating does not necessarily mean a source is totally unbiased, neutral, perfectly reasonable, or credible, just as Left and Right don't necessarily mean extreme, wrong, unreasonable, or not credible. AllSides encourages people to read outlets across the political spectrum.

Ballotpedia provides a digital encyclopedia of detailed information and insight on federal, state and local politics.
According to its website, "Ballotpedia is the online encyclopedia of American politics and elections. Our goal is to inform people about politics by providing accurate and objective information about politics at all levels of government. Ballotpedia's articles are 100 percent written by our professional staff and a small group of guest editors. All content written by our guest editors is reviewed and fact-checked by our staff." The company worked with tech giants Amazon and Twitter in separate capacities in 2018 to help provide information about local elections and combat political misinformation on social media. It was founded in 2007 by the Lucy Burns Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization.
On a page explaining "How we ensure factual content," Ballotpedia states that it "does not have reporters on the ground acting as a primary source. Instead, Ballotpedia typically curates content from existing sources. We gather, cross-check, organize, and summarize that information into an easy-to-access, neutral encyclopedia for our readers. In some cases, we receive direct, primary source content through email or voice communication."
