In April 2025, a group of AllSides reviewers from the left, right, and center agreed that TruthOut's media bias rating should be moved from Lean Left to Left. A Lean Left-rated AllSides reviewer said the outlet seemed "unapologetically left." A Center-rated reviewer noted the website's prominent fundraising plea calling President Donald Trump "a threat to journalism."
