Sky News Australia is owned by News Corp Australia, an Australian media conglomerate and subsidiary of News Corp, an American mass media and publishing company headquartered in Manhattan.
In 2016, News Corp, the parent of The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, Fox News, Fox Business, and The New York Post, acquired Sky News Australia, which was originally a spinoff of the UK’s Sky News.
The two networks are no longer affiliated, though News Corp has continued to license the name from Comcast.
