Free Press is a nonprofit advocacy group. It was rated Left following a Nov. 2022 independent review by an AllSides reviewer.

The reviewer noted a focus on identity groups and advocacy angles that typically align with the left, such as calls for net neutrality, a belief that former President Donald Trump's ban on Twitter was justified, and the belief that online hate speech is endangering lives: "Hate and disinformation are proliferating on both traditional media and social-media platforms — endangering the lives of people of color, women, the LGBTQIA+ community, immigrants and religious minorities."
