Navigating AI, Climate, and the Future of Democracy

Blog post image

Political division feels deeper than ever. And yet, something surprising is happening in communities across the country: neighbors who agree on almost nothing are finding common ground around data centers.

On September 28, John Gable, CEO and co-founder of AllSides, joined a town hall-style community conversation on navigating AI, climate, and the future of democracy.

From concerns about energy use to water consumption to noise, light, and air pollution, people across the political spectrum are asking the same important questions about who bears the costs of this rapidly expanding technology, and who gets to decide.

The conversation explored: How do we make sure AI and the infrastructure powering it actually improve humanity?

John joined Inês Azevedo, Director at Stanford Woods Institute of the Environment and Jay Sexton, Professor of History and Director of the Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy at the University of Missouri.

At AllSides, we believe real progress happens in rooms like this one — where people with different perspectives and backgrounds sit down together to navigate hard questions with respect and integrity.
