It's not too late to join the National Roundtable on Political Violence! Sign up here for one of our three sessions today.
In addition to the National Roundtable this week, I’ll be joining an in-person Town Hall — Bridging the Divide: Talking, Listening, and Finding Common Ground hosted by Civil Dialogues and the Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy at the Kansas City Public Library.
We didn’t plan for this Town Hall and the National Roundtable on Political Violence to fall within 24 hours of each other, but maybe it’s exactly the timing we need.
On Wednesday November 5, one day after mid-term elections, I will sit alongside Jay Sexton, Director of the Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy, as well as Brooke Taylor and Anna Chellis from BridgeUSA at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Together we will discuss the information ecosystem, how the country got through previous periods of political turmoil and the lessons learned, and how students on campus are engaging across differences.
Whether in a library in Kansas City or in thousands of living rooms, dorms, and offices across the country tomorrow, the common thread is this: People are ready to move from outrage to understanding.
Register here, and tune into the live stream at 6pm CST.
About Civil Dialogues
Civil Dialogues was conceived by journalists Jean Becker, Chief of Staff to President George H.W. Bush during his post presidency, and Linda Lorelle, CEO & Executive Producer of Linda Lorelle Media. Both graduates of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Becker and Lorelle decided to use their skills, networks and passion for our democracy to work toward bringing us together.
