HealthCare.gov Opens for Second Year of EnrollmentsThe second year of health plan sign-ups under the Affordable Care Act kicked off Saturday in a test of health insurance marketplaces that were hobbled by technology problems last year.
The federal site, HealthCare.gov, opened in the early hours of Saturday with a streamlined consumer application that, based on a small batch of early sign-ups, appeared to be avoiding the logjams of the first enrollment season. Most states operating their own exchanges also opened Saturday after rushing last week to finalize fixes and testing. Some showed isolated snags.
