112 people die from coronavirus in NYC in 25 hours, as cases top 36,000New York City saw 112 people die from coronavirus in just 25 hours as the number of cases grew to more than 36,000 on Monday morning.
There were 36,221 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the five boroughs by 10:30 a.m. Monday, a 12% increase from 32,308 at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Health Department data.
So far the virus has killed 790 people in the city, with the death toll climbing 16.5% from 678 fatalities on Sunday morning.
