Journalist Glenn Greenwald Resigns from The Intercept

Summary from the AllSides News Team

Prominent national security journalist Glenn Greenwald publicly announced his resignation from The Intercept Thursday. Greenwald, who co-founded the publication, says editors violated his contract by refusing to publish a story "unless I remove all sections critical of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the candidate vehemently supported by all New-York-based Intercept editors involved in this effort at suppression." The Intercept's Editor in Chief Betsy Reed responded by saying Greenwald's announcement "is teeming with distortions and inaccuracies — all of them designed to make him appear as a victim, rather than a grown person throwing a tantrum." Reed and some other left-rated voices described Greenwald as egotistical and out of line. Some right-rated voices were critical of The Intercept and other media for purportedly adhering to partisan groupthink and intolerance.
