Historic Flooding Hits New York, New Jersey

At least 16 people are dead as of Thursday afternoon after historic flooding hit New York and New Jersey caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Rescuers are searching for people who may be stuck in their basements or elsewhere.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the first time in New York City; the storm dropped more than five inches of rain in Central Park in a 3-hour period.  The New York transit system is also working to reopen after severe flooding.
