The number of people going hungry around the world could double in just a few months as the coronavirus pandemic wreaks havoc on food supplies and hurts incomes.
That’s according to a group of major food companies, industry bodies and academics, which warned that those suffering from chronic hunger may surge from about 800 million amid mounting food-supply risks. The threat is acute for poor regions like sub-Saharan Africa.

Knights of Columbus Launch Multi-Million-Dollar Food Bank Delivery Operation During Pandemic
The organization is based in New Haven, Connecticut, and is one of the country’s foremost charitable organizations. The Knights call its campaign, “Leave No Neighbor Behind,” and describe the food bank operation as “multi-phase.”
The initial phase of the food bank operation is launching with numerous volunteers and more than $1 million, covering 20 cities in 16 states and the District of Columbia.
