Classified US Operation Reportedly Helping Ukraine Target Russian Generals

Secret U.S. efforts are reportedly helping Ukraine target and kill Russian generals on the front lines of the conflict.

That's according to anonymous senior U.S. officials cited in a New York Times report. Ukraine says it has killed at least 12 Russian generals since Russia's invasion began in late February. The Times report says U.S. efforts have "focused on providing the location and other details about the Russian military’s mobile headquarters" with the help of satellite imagery. Officials also told the Times that the U.S. refrains from providing intelligence about the most senior Russian leaders.

A Pentagon spokesman said that "we will not speak to the details of that information," while confirming that the U.S. provides “Ukraine with information and intelligence that they can use to defend themselves.” The Biden administration has already allocated over $2 billion in military aid to Ukraine, including anti-aircraft weapons and munitions.
