Biden Leads Trump in New 2024 Poll, Buoyed by Women, Independents

A new poll determined President Joe Biden holds a 50-44 lead over the likely Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, in a hypothetical 2024 matchup.

Details: The latest survey conducted by Quinnipiac University expands Biden’s lead from the previous month’s poll, which determined the results were too close to call. One significant area where Biden has recently gained support is among women voters, which Biden won 58-36, an increase over the 53-41 split from Quinnipiac’s December poll. Biden also holds a 52-40 majority among independent voters. When the Republican candidate is former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley instead of Trump, Haley beats Biden 47-42.
