A 21-year-old man wanted out of Ohio was taken into custody after a standoff in eastern Jefferson County. The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency arrested Mar’Shawn Johnson Monday afternoon. Two candidates advance to runoff in 24th Judicial District Court race in Jefferson Parish
Lindsey Valenti and Jacqueline "Jackie" Maloney advanced to a runoff in Saturday's election for the Division D seat on the 24th Judicial District Court in Jefferson Parish.
With all 162 precincts reporting, Valenti received 39% of the vote to Maloney's 37%. "Jerry" Smith secured 24% of the vote.
The runoff between the two Republicans is scheduled for April 27.
