One person was injured during a shooting in southwest Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive northwest and Westland Boulevard northwest, a little over a mile from the intersection of I-285 and I-20 in the Westhaven neighborhood of Atlanta.

The victim is in critical condition, police said.

One suspect is in custody after authorities received a report of an active shooter at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia on Wednesday. Casualties have been reported. One person is dead and another was injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood near Center Hill Park, authorities said.

Few details have been released, and officers remain at the scene on Hill Street, Atlanta police said. The shooting victims were found at a home in the residential neighborhood.

One person was pronounced dead by medical personnel

Police were called to the area of Meador Avenue SE and Schell Road SE just after 7 p.m.

That's where the victim was found and declared dead. He has not yet been identified.

There has also been no word on the shooter.
