Two drivers charged in fatal New Haven street racing crash in 2022, police say
NEW HAVEN — New Haven police say they have charged two drivers with first-degree manslaughter in connection with a serious 2022 street racing crash that killed 30-year-old Carlos Gonzalez.
Six other people were also injured in the crash, which occurred during the early hours the day before Halloween and involved five vehicles, police said.

Indiana's infant mortality rate rose in 2022 and remains higher than the national average
Indiana's infant mortality rate (IMR) increased in 2022, according to data from the Department of Health. The state says 577 babies died before their 1st birthday that year. Indiana's IMR has been on the rise since 2019 and has been higher than the national average since at least 2013. The IMR among Black infants is nearly 3 times that of White infants.
