In 1999, Lori Tipton’s brother overdosed and died while he was visiting her at Tulane in New Orleans. In 2005, Tipton’s mother murdered two women and killed herself. Tipton found the bodies. One month later, Hurricane Katrina rattled the coast and displaced Tipton from her home.
