Louisiana State Police trooper injured in Houma drunk driving crash, police say

Police have arrested an Alabama man after he injured a Louisiana State Police trooper while allegedly drunk driving in Houma Wednesday. Authorities say the man, Deak Matteson Jr. of Guin, Alabama was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 the wrong way down Louisiana Highway 24 North when a State Police unit noticed and tried to stop him. Matteson, 63, then struck the trooper head-on, sending the officer to the hospital. Authorities booked Matteson into the Terrebonne Parish Jail with driving under the influence, negligent injuring and traffic violations. The trooper has...
