Nine people dead after a car crashes into Palm Beach County canal, authorities say

Nine people are dead and one person remained hospitalized after a car crashed into a canal outside of Belle Glade, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The crash happened at around 7:29 p.m Monday near the 5800 block of Hatton Highway, just west of Belle Glade. The 2023 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Hatton Highway when it approached a curve and drove into a grassy area, hitting a guardrail and overturning into the canal, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
