Alabama debuts at No. 5 in preseason Coaches Poll, nine SEC teams ranked

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - While the sidelines will look different in Bryant-Denny Stadium when the college football season kicks off this month, the Crimson Tide will be in familiar territory as a top-five team. In the first Coaches Poll of the season, Alabama came in at No. 5, behind Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas. Georgia was an overwhelming pick at No. 1 with 46 first-place votes.
