Weather alert issued for strong thunderstorms in Berkshire County Sunday midday

The National Weather Service issued a report at 11:14 a.m. on Sunday for strong thunderstorms until noon for Berkshire County. Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 40 mph. "At 11:14 a.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Philmont, or near Chatham, moving east at 25 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects."
