Local job numbers grow by 2.3% in June, year over year

MANKATO — The Mankato-North Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area added 1,300 jobs for a 2.3% increase from June 2023. Service jobs were up 3% in June while local government added 6.2% to their job numbers. Average earnings per hour locally fell $2.18 year over year, from $32.43 in June of 2023 to $30.25 this June. In the local region, 1,319 jobs have been added since June 2023. Rochester was up 3.6% year over year in June, St. Cloud was up 1.6% and Minneapolis-St. Paul was up 0.2%. Duluth was down 1.6%....
