Immigrant sentenced for illegal reentry to the US following stabbing

WATERLOO — A Waterloo man who attacked his girlfriend and stabbed her family has been sentenced to jail on immigration charges. Eslyn Hernandez-Milla, 28, was sentenced to up to 10 months in jail on a charge of illegal reentry during a hearing in U.S. District Court of Northern Iowa in Cedar Rapids. Authorities said Hernandez, a citizen of Honduras, was removed from the United States in June 2018.
