Jury finds former pastor not guilty in Madison child sexual assault case

MADISON, Wis. -- A jury Wednesday evening found a former pastor not guilty in a Madison child sexual assault, after deliberating the case for approximately four hours. Robert Stine, 61, of Middleton, was facing two felony charges of first-degree child sexual assault involving a person under the age of 13. He pleaded not guilty to both. The case was first brought forward in 2023. Stine was a pastor at Midvale Baptist Church on Madison's near west side, where the alleged sexual abuse took place. According to a previous News 3...
