Ionia city planners OK residential rezoning and construction plan, tables another

The city's Planning Commission held two public hearings and approved their associated actions, but tabled another public hearing's action on Wednesday afternoon.

Because of the recently passed “megaordinance” that eliminated the R-1, R-2 and R-3 designations and replaced them with low-, medium- and high-density residential zoning areas, planners reviewed the proposed rezoning of 165 previously non-conforming parcels around the city.
