A man convicted of threatening to kill the Rochester Hills clerk after the 2020 election was sentenced Tuesday to 14 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Laurie Michelson. Prosecutors said Andrew Nickels, 38, of Carmel, Ind. "terrorized" former Rochester Hills Clerk Tina Barton amid an increase of threats aimed at politicians. Nickels pleaded guilty five months ago to threatening to kill Barton after she defended the integrity of the 2020 presidential election in which Trump lost Michigan to Democrat Joe Biden.
