Clinton to be established as port authority

The Clinton County Board of Supervisors are to act on a Resolution on Monday that will establish Clinton as a port authority. There are more than 300 established ports in the nation, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation Maritime Administration, that are operated by states, counties, municipalities, and private corporations. In 2021, a Houston, Texas, port was considered the top U.S. water port ranked by the Bureau of Transportation according to tonnage (266.5 million).
