Monona County Sheriff: Rodney residents expected to return to homes today

Residents of Rodney, Iowa are expected to be allowed to return to their homes later today after the town of 45 people had to evacuate in the wee hours of the morning after an upstream levee broke due to a surge of water from the Little Sioux River. Residents will likely be able to return after power is restored to the town. As of 12:20 p.m., MidAmerican Energy Maps were showing power was out for essentially all of Rodney, Smithland and Oto.
