Idaho's first two heat-related deaths of 2024 reported, as weekend temperatures rise

Boise, Idaho (CBS2) – Two people over the age of 60 have died due to the hot weather. Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says these are the first two people of the year to die due to the heat. Temperatures this weekend are expected to be around 100 degrees in southern Idaho. Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says heat exhaustion may occur before symptoms of heatstroke.
