Man involved in 2022 deadly Waikiki stabbing pleads guilty

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A man accused of a deadly stabbing in Waikiki in December of 2022 has pled guilty to a lesser offense just before his murder trial. Lionel Winebush pled guilty to first-degree assault. Winebush is accused of stabbing Toni Taki in a Waikiki brawl sending Taki to the hospital, where he later died. Court documents showed that the Dec. 6, 2022 incident began based on retaliation between the two groups due to a disagreement.
