Sunscreen recall: Suntegrity issues skin foundation recall for mold concerns

Suntegrity Skincare has voluntarily recalled several lots of sunscreen after the Food and Drug Administration identified "a higher than acceptable microbiological mold count" in some tubes. The FDA posted a recall announcement on June 12 warning customers, retailers, and distributors to stop using certain lots of Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation. The agency said some tubes of Lot 115BU were contaminated with aspergillus sydowii, which can trigger an eye infection, allergic skin reaction, or a primary fungal skin infection if used on sunburned skin or open injuries.
