Alex Gage, trailblazing GOP strategist credited for "microtargeting," dies at 74

Washington – Even though you probably didn’t know him, Alexander “Pat” Gage knew who you were. Gage, a data scientist who U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney and others credit for revolutionizing how political campaigns try to reach voters, died Wednesday near his hometown of Grosse Pointe after a battle with dementia. He was 74.
