Bonneville-Jefferson Groundwater District holds meeting over potential offer to end curtailment

The Bonneville-Jefferson Groundwater District held a meeting Wednesday morning at the Melaleuca headquarters to discuss with junior groundwater users a potential deal to help end the curtailment . Rep. Stephanie Mickelsen, R-Dist. 32-A, the chair of the Idaho Groundwater Appropriators, said the offer is a one-year deal that will require returning to the 2015 mitigation plan. Pump allocation for groundwater users will be 14%, and the districts must provide their proportionate share of 50,000 acre-feet of water.
