Person hit by car on E. Franklin Street in Chapel Hill

A person was hit by a car Tuesday on E. Franklin Street in Chapel Hill.

At 9:16 p.m., the Chapel Hill Police Department responded to a report of someone being hit by a car on E. Franklin Street at Eastgate Crossing. That person was transported to UNC Hospitals with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
