PATERSON — The school district’s spending on private security guards will break the $10 million mark in 2024-25, an increase that comes as teachers’ union leaders allege incidents of violence are being swept under the rug. The proposed $10.14 million contract with Allied Universal Security Services of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania would require the district to pay the private firm $31.82 per hour for each security guard and $39.15 per hour for supervisors and managers.
