NYC students show off STEM skills at annual PAL science fair

Students from across the five boroughs got to show off their young minds and their knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math at the annual Police Athletic League science fair. The PAL center in Longwood was packed with young engineers in training. The students from fifth through eighth grade showed off their projects focusing on natural disasters. The kids from all five boroughs were told to make structures that could withstand disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires and more for at least 20 seconds. Some structures resembled bridges, highways and armories....
